The Most Anticipated Cozy Games Coming in 2026

The cozy games worth waiting for in the rest of 2026 are Witchbrook (a witch-school life sim), the 1.0 of Fields of Mistria (a Stardew-style farm), Hotel Galactic (a Ghibli-style hotel manager), Loftia (a solarpunk MMO), and our own apartment sim, Grandma Left Me a Building, with Moonlight Peaks (a vampire farm) already out since July 6, 2026. Every one of them is on Steam right now, to wishlist or to play.

What makes a cozy game worth wishlisting?
I put a cozy game on my wishlist when it clears three low bars. First, it is genuinely low-stakes: no timer, no leaderboard, and forgiving stakes, so playing it lowers your shoulders instead of raising your heart rate. Second, it belongs to 2026, either launching this year or leaving Early Access for its 1.0, so the list stays about the year in front of us rather than a back catalogue. Third, it has a flavor of its own, because six identical farm sims would not be a list. The six below each clear all three, and I grouped them by what makes each one distinct so you can pick by taste.
Which cozy games are coming out in 2026?
One pick per cozy flavor: a magic school, a vampire farm, a classic farm sim reaching 1.0, a hotel, an MMO, and an apartment building.
Witchbrook: the magic-school life sim (2026, no date yet)
Witchbrook (Chucklefish, with co-developer Robotality) is the one I see wishlisted and shared most whenever cozy 2026 comes up. Set in the seaside town of Mossport, it is a pixel-art life sim: you enroll as a resident witch, take classes, make friends, fall in love, and grow a spellbook across the seasons, solo or in up to four-player online co-op. Chucklefish delayed it out of 2025 and still has not committed to a date, saying only that it lands in 2026 once they are “completely confident” in it. Its Steam page lists Windows, so PC is confirmed and consoles are unannounced. Picture Stardew Valley if it went to magic school.
Moonlight Peaks: the vampire farm (out now, July 6, 2026)
Moonlight Peaks (Little Chicken Game Company) is the one here you can already play: it launched on July 6, 2026, on Steam for PC and Mac, and on Switch. You play a modern vampire tending an enchanted farm and manor in a gothic-cozy village, brewing potions and befriending or romancing the local werewolves, witches, and mermaids. It takes the calm rhythm of a farming sim and paints it in Halloween colors, a corner of the genre almost nobody else fills. It was the first of these six to land, and it sits at Very Positive on Steam, 90% positive across 1,665 reviews as of August 2026.
Fields of Mistria: the farm sim finally hitting 1.0 (1.0 due August 5, 2026)
Fields of Mistria (NPC Studio) has been in Early Access since 2024 and sits at an Overwhelmingly Positive Steam rating, 98% positive across 29,144 reviews as of August 2026. NPC Studio has stated August 5, 2026 for the full 1.0, which is the studio’s target rather than a shipped release, so check the store page before you plan a week around it. The look is anime-styled Harvest Moon by way of Stardew, and the 1.0 adds the marriage, children, and finished main story that Early Access left open. Steam lists Windows and Linux, with consoles unannounced. It is already worth playing; this is the version to hold out for if you would rather start a farm once and see the whole story through.
Hotel Galactic: the cozy management sim (in Early Access now)
Hotel Galactic is a Studio-Ghibli-inspired, 2.5D inn manager: you revive a neglected intergalactic hotel and keep a rotating cast of alien guests happy. It launched into Early Access on July 24, 2025 from Ancient Forge, the team behind the landlord sim The Tenants. After Ancient Forge hit financial trouble, EndGameLoop Games took over development in June 2026, kept much of the original crew, and is still building it out toward a full release. That handover shows in the reception: it sits at Mostly Positive, 73% positive across 705 reviews as of August 2026. It is Windows only on Steam, with consoles unannounced. It is playable today, and its “restore a broken-down building full of odd characters” bones are the closest thing here to what we are building.
Loftia: the cozy MMO (Early Access, fall 2026)
Loftia (Qloud Games, a Sydney indie whose Kickstarter became Australia’s biggest game crowdfunder) is the multiplayer pick: a self-described cozy solarpunk MMO across floating islands, where you farm, craft, decorate, and build a sustainable town alongside other players. Its cosmetics-only monetization and community focus are a deliberate answer to grindier online games. Early Access is slated for fall 2026, Steam lists Windows and Mac with consoles unannounced, and it is the only game here you will play with a crowd.
Grandma Left Me a Building: our cozy apartment sim (in development)
This one is ours, and it is not out yet. Grandma Left Me a Building is a cozy apartment-management sim where you restore the run-down building your grandmother left you and fill it with a cast of very odd tenants, from an opera singer who bursts into an aria in the elevator to a philosopher who answers everything with “but why?”. There is no time pressure: you place tenants, keep the peace between mismatched neighbors, collect rent, and upgrade the place at your own pace. Think Hotel Galactic, but on the apartment-and-tenants side of the street. As of August 2026 its Steam page lists Windows and Mac, with consoles unannounced, and a release date of November 10, 2026. You can wishlist it on Steam to hear first if that date moves.
