Roguelike Deckbuilders Coming in 2027, Dated on Steam
What Steam actually has dated for 2027
Updated August 2026.
Most pages that answer this question are 2026 roundups wearing a 2027 headline. This one is built the other way round. I pulled Steam’s own coming soon list for the Roguelike Deckbuilder tag, kept only the entries carrying a 2027 window, and opened every store page to confirm the date and the platforms.
The list ran to 296 unreleased games when I pulled it in August 2026. 72 of them carry a 2027 window of some kind. Fourteen of those 72 are in the table below: I kept the ones with a real store page, English support, and a hook I could describe from the page itself. The other 58 are placeholder listings, reskins, or pages whose copy never says what the game does. Three of the fourteen carry an exact day, and all three land in January.
A roguelike deckbuilder is a run-based card game where you start with a weak deck, add and remove cards between fights, and lose everything you built the moment you die, the run and the deck together.
If you wishlist one game off this page, make it INFERIUS. It is the 2027 entry sitting highest on Steam’s most-wishlisted list for the tag when I checked in August 2026, and nothing else here is attempting the shape it is attempting: a first-person horror descent with Major Arcana tarot for a deck.
The 2027 board at a glance
| Game | Date on Steam | The hook | Desktop platforms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Card of Fate | Jan 1, 2027 | Deck a path to Heaven or Hell, fight the guardians of the afterlife | Windows only |
| Tails & Talons | Jan 8, 2027 | Every card is an attack, a spell, or both | Windows only |
| Hellmate | Jan 19, 2027 | Chess deckbuilder through the seven floors of Hell. Unreleased, ours | Windows, macOS |
| Ramen://protocol | January 2027 | Cyberpunk ramen stall, toppings as cards | Windows only |
| God of Stock | February 2027 | God-blessed cards that manipulate stock prices | Windows only |
| Penny Potluck | March 2027 | Cozy cooking run, ingredients and seasonings as synergies | Windows only |
| MECHBORN | Q1 2027 | Your mech is your deck, cards ride a conveyor belt | Windows only |
| Five More Minutes | Q1 2027 | Pick two starting genres and mash their decks together | Windows only |
| HexLands | Q1 2027 | Deckbuilder plus city builder on procedural islands | Windows, macOS, Linux |
| Reply All | Q1 2027 | Email threads as turn-based combat | Windows only |
| Cardinal Descent | Q2 2027 | Elemental synergies built out of sticker combos | Windows, macOS |
| Starfire Skies | Q2 2027 | Fireworks are the cards, and animals are the audience | Windows only |
| INFERIUS | 2027 | First-person horror descent on Major Arcana tarot | Windows only |
| Gambit | 2027 | Chess roguelike where every run bends the rules | Windows only |
Eleven of those fourteen are Windows only. HexLands is the single entry in this table that ships for Windows, macOS and Linux at once, which matters if you are on a Mac or a Linux box: that is the difference between wishlisting a deckbuilder and playing it.
The three with an exact day
Card of Fate from INDIE-SQUID GmbH carries the earliest hard date in this table, 1 January, and its pitch is a deck built along a path that forks toward Heaven or Hell before you fight the guardians of the afterlife. Of the three January games it describes the most familiar run structure: pick a path, fight what is on it, reach the guardians at the end. Treat the date loosely, though. January 1 is a common Steam placeholder for a developer who has settled on a year and not a day, so this one is softer than the other two.
Tails & Talons from RATH lands a week later, on 8 January. Every card is an attack, a spell, or both, and the store page frames the whole game as chaining the right ones until a scratch becomes a killing blow. That makes it the closest thing in this table to a pure damage-math puzzle.
Our own Hellmate sits beside this list, not on it: a roguelike deckbuilding chess game where each of Hell’s seven floors belongs to a deadly sin and you spend mana summoning pieces to melt that sin’s king before your turns run out. It is dated 19 January 2027 and unreleased. If the chess side is what draws you, our roundup of chess roguelikes covers the games you can play today.
The window games, Q1 and Q2
Ramen://protocol runs a cyberpunk ramen stall. Toppings are the deck, skills push a bowl past what a bowl should survive, and nothing else with a month attached is this odd. God of Stock trades god-blessed cards that bend prices your way, which makes the enemy a number moving the wrong direction.
Penny Potluck cooks. Ingredients and seasonings combine into recipes that score, and it is the one entry here with no fight anywhere in the pitch. MECHBORN makes your mech the deck, and the store page shows its cards riding a conveyor belt into the fight.
Five More Minutes asks you to pick two starting genres and mashes their decks together, so the run’s identity is settled before the first draft. HexLands feeds the cards into a city builder spread over procedural medieval islands, which is the answer if you ever wanted a deckbuilder to leave a map behind.
Reply All turns email into turn-based combat and your deck into replies aimed at a passive-aggressive coworker. It is the funniest premise on this page, unless you also answer email for a living. Cardinal Descent keeps the card pool small and hangs everything on elemental synergies and sticker combos. Starfire Skies I would watch for looks alone: your cards are fireworks, an audience of animals is scoring you, and holding one back for the finale is a real decision.
Dated 2027 and nothing tighter
INFERIUS from Lucid Rain Studios is the one I would watch hardest. The descent runs through nine dominions of Hell, the deck is the Major Arcana, and the lantern you carry is what decides how much of the room you can see while you play a card. None of the other thirteen games here puts you inside the fight that way. Gambit closes the year at the other extreme: a chess roguelike about building an army and surviving rule-bending variants, pitched at proving a human can still beat the machine. Neither game has a month on it, only the year.
If chess-shaped card games are what you came for, the definition work lives in what a chess deckbuilder actually is, and the wider genre picture is in what makes a good roguelike.
What is missing from this list, and why
The biggest deckbuilder release that could plausibly land in 2027 is absent from the table above, because it has no date. Slay the Spire 2 has been on sale in an unfinished state since 5 March 2026, the arrangement where you pay mid-development and keep receiving updates until the game is done, and its own store page answers the how-long question with “Until the game feels great! Last time we thought it would be about a year and it took about 1.5 years. So perhaps in the same 1 - 2 year range.” That points at 2027 without committing to it, so it cannot go in a calendar.
The same applies to the most-wishlisted upcoming games in the tag, several of which read “To be announced” on their store pages. A game with no window cannot go on a 2027 calendar, however likely it feels.
And the caveat that governs the whole page: a quarter or a bare year on a Steam page is a plan the developer typed, not a commitment anyone can hold them to. The 8 January and 19 January dates are the only entries here I would treat as firm, and even those are firm the way an indie release date is firm. I re-check this list monthly and re-date the table when Steam does.

Quick answers
Are any of these confirmed for a specific day in 2027? Three, and all three sit in January: Card of Fate on 1 January, Tails & Talons on 8 January, Hellmate on 19 January. Everything else in the table carries a month, a quarter or a bare year.
Why does the table hold fourteen games when 72 carry a 2027 window? 58 of the 72 did not survive opening their store page: placeholder listings, reskins, and pages whose copy never says what the game does. The fourteen left are the ones with English support and a hook I could describe from the page itself.
Which 2027 roguelike deckbuilders run on something other than Windows? Three of the fourteen, as of August 2026. HexLands ships for Windows, macOS and Linux, Cardinal Descent and Hellmate add macOS, and the remaining eleven are Windows only.
Will Slay the Spire 2 be finished in 2027? No date has been announced. Its store page estimates a one to two year build from its 5 March 2026 arrival, and the far end of that estimate lands in 2028, so I would not hold a 2027 slot for it.
