Steam Games You Can Play With Just a Mouse
Which Steam games can you play with just a mouse?
All ten games below carry Steam’s Mouse Only Option flag, so their developers say you can play them with a mouse and nothing else. If you buy one, make it Monster Train 2: 95.3% positive across 10,217 reviews, Windows and Mac, and flagged Playable without Timed Input and Save Anytime as well as Mouse Only (as of October 2026). Strange Antiquities suits you if you would rather solve than fight, and Cast n Chill if you want a game that keeps going while you do something else.
Updated October 2026. I read every flag, price, review count and platform below off the US Steam store this month. I did not play any of these with only a mouse: developers set these flags themselves, so I checked each one against what its store page says you actually do.
Mouse Only Option answers the one-hand question: the mouse is the whole controller. Two timing flags answer a different one, whether the game waits for you. That matters if your clicks are slow or imprecise, if you play on a trackball, or if your eyes are elsewhere, say on a laptop on the couch with a podcast going. So the table carries both timing flags next to platform and price.

Prices are the regular US price, not the sale price several of these showed when I checked. Review figures are Steam’s total across all languages. “Not flagged” means the developer did not tick that box. It does not prove the game needs fast clicks.
What does Mouse Only Option mean on Steam?
A mouse-only game on Steam is a game whose developer has ticked Mouse Only Option, Valve’s accessibility flag for games that can be played with just a mouse and no keyboard, controller or other input.
Valve’s own wording is that “players can play the game with just a mouse and no other additional input mechanisms such as a keyboard or controller” (Steamworks documentation). The box sits in the Accessibility Feature Wizard on the developer’s store page settings. Steam’s search returns 12,029 games with the flag (as of October 2026).
Two timing flags sit next to it. Playable without Timed Input, which Valve’s documentation calls Playable without Quick Time Events, means the game either does not require “precisely timed button presses” or has an option to turn them off. Playable at Your Own Pace goes further: “Players can take as long as they need for any input, or inputs that require specific timing can be disabled or skipped.” Save Anytime tells players, in Valve’s words, that “they won’t lose significant progress if interrupted”. A game can be mouse-only and still ask for a quick click, so read the timing flags as well.
Which mouse-only games are roguelikes and deckbuilders?
Monster Train 2
You defend a train with “three vertical levels” by playing unit and spell cards onto them, with five new clans plus Room and Equipment cards, according to its store page. It carries Mouse Only Option, Keyboard Only Option, Playable without Timed Input, Save Anytime and Adjustable Difficulty. It stood at 95.3% positive across 10,217 reviews (as of October 2026). Start here if you want a deckbuilder with a large, settled review base behind it; if it clicks, games like Monster Train goes further down that road.
Ring of Pain
A “roguelike card crawler where encounters come to you”: the dungeon is a ring of cards, and every step is a choice to loot, fight or sneak past (Steam). The store page says you can “play as fast or slow as you like in this challenging, turn-based roguelike.” It is 91.4% positive across 5,109 reviews at $19.99 regular (as of October 2026). It has no Save Anytime flag. Ring of Pain suits a player who wants every turn to be a single decision to stare at for as long as they like.
Dicevaders
A dice-based roguelike deckbuilder set in the StarVaders universe, where you play the alien invasion: you build your force “on a turn-based grid where every placement matters” and use rerolls and budges to bend the dice (Steam). It launched on September 29, 2026, so its 94.0% positive share rests on only 251 reviews (as of October 2026). It carries both timing flags, Playable without Timed Input and Playable at Your Own Pace, plus Save Anytime, and costs $14.99 regular (as of October 2026). If you need a game that waits for every input, Dicevaders is the only one of the ten flagged for both; just treat its score as early.
RACCOIN: Coin Pusher Roguelike
An arcade coin pusher turned into a roguelike deckbuilder: you drop special coins, stack items and shake the machine to set off combos (Steam). It lists 150 coins, 150 items, 6 characters and 8 difficulty levels. It has Playable at Your Own Pace and Save Anytime but not Playable without Timed Input. At $11.99 regular and 82.4% positive across 4,681 reviews (as of October 2026), RACCOIN has the lowest regular price on the list. Play it if you like watching a combo tumble out of a machine.
Which mouse-only strategy games are on Steam?
Mewgenics
Turn-based cat tactics and breeding from Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel: you send a squad of cats into battles that “demand careful positioning”, then breed the survivors into stranger, stronger cats for the next run (Steam). The store page promises a 200+ hour main campaign. It is the most reviewed game here, 89.9% positive across 54,540 (as of October 2026), and the most expensive at $29.99 regular. It is Windows only. Mewgenics is the pick on Windows if you want one game to last you a very long time.
9 Kings
A “fast-paced roguelike kingdom builder” in which each king starts with a deck of buildings, troops and spells, and you loot more cards from the rival kings who attack you (Steam). It is still in Early Access on Steam. It carries neither timing flag, and it adds Touch Only Option and Save Anytime. At 92.4% positive across 23,399 reviews and $19.99 regular (as of October 2026), 9 Kings is for players who want busy runs and are happy to keep up with a game that calls itself fast-paced.
For The King II
A turn-based roguelite tabletop RPG where dice rolls drive movement, encounters and combat, with a campaign of 7 adventures and “over 30 hours of gameplay” (Steam). Solo, you control the whole party; with friends it is four-player co-op. It is flagged Mouse Only and Keyboard Only but neither timing flag, and it is Windows only. Its 70.9% positive share across 16,245 reviews (as of October 2026) is the second lowest here. Bring it to a group: up to four players can share one campaign.
Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis TD
A tower defense game: enemy waves walk the road and you build towers, pick heroes and cast spells to stop them, across 18 campaign stages with 12 heroes, 15 towers and 9 spells (Steam). It carries neither timing flag and no Save Anytime. It came out on September 24, 2026 and sits at Mixed, 67.4% positive across 3,797 reviews (as of October 2026), the lowest score here, at $19.99 regular. Kingdom Rush 6 is for a series fan who is fine with no timing flags and no Save Anytime; everyone else can wait for the reviews to settle.
Are there relaxing mouse-only games on Steam?
Strange Antiquities
You run a shop of occult objects in the town of Undermere: customers bring problems, and you examine, identify and catalogue artefacts using “careful reference to our collection of illustrated tomes” (Steam). Some choices help a customer and some curse them, and the town remembers. It carries Mouse Only, Touch Only, Playable without Timed Input and Save Anytime, and stands at 95.2% positive across 3,575 reviews at $17.99 regular (as of October 2026). Save it for a slow evening of reading and deduction.
Cast n Chill
A fishing game with two speeds. In Active Mode you cast and reel; in Passive Mode the game fishes while you are away, and the store page tells you to “set it up on a second monitor or tuck it in the corner” (Steam). It has 16 fishing spots, 50+ fish and a cabin to restore, and it carries Playable without Timed Input and Save Anytime. It is 94.9% positive across 8,767 reviews at $14.99 regular (as of October 2026). Cast n Chill fits the laptop-on-the-couch player: it asks for a click when you have one to give.
Which mouse-only game should you play first?
Choose by situation. If every input has to wait for you, look for either timing flag: Dicevaders and RACCOIN carry Playable at Your Own Pace, and six of the ten carry Playable without Timed Input. With friends, For The King II. On a tight budget, RACCOIN, cheapest by $3 at regular price. For something to leave running, Cast n Chill. If you also need a game you can stop at any moment, Save Anytime is the flag to check, and games you can put down anytime covers that problem on its own. Short evenings are covered in games for 30-minute sessions, and older machines in games for low-end laptops.
How do you find more mouse-only games on Steam?
Steam can filter for the flag directly. This Mouse Only Option search lists every game that carries it, and you can narrow it by price, genre or operating system from the same page.
On any store page, the accessibility features sit in the sidebar. Valve’s documentation notes the panel is collapsed by default, so expand it before you buy and look for Mouse Only Option, one of the two timing flags, and Save Anytime. If a game has the first and neither timing flag, read the store page for the words “turn-based” or “at your own pace” before you decide.
Where our game fits
Hellmate is our own game, and it sits beside this list rather than on it. It is roguelike deckbuilding chess in the seven floors of Hell: you summon pieces, sling spells and brand your army with sigils to melt the HP of each sin’s king before your turns run out. On Steam it carries Mouse Only Option, Playable without Timed Input, Playable at Your Own Pace and Save Anytime (as of October 2026). Unlike the deckbuilders above, your cards summon pieces onto a chessboard; chess deckbuilders explains the genre. It is unreleased, dated January 19, 2027 on Steam (as of October 2026), for Windows and macOS. The Hellmate demo carries the same flags and is playable now, and the Hellmate Steam page is where to follow it.
