Upcoming Cozy Games With a 2027 Date on Steam
Updated September 8, 2026
What 2027 already looks like on Steam
Updated August 2026.
The 2027 cozy shelf already exists on Steam, more than a year before any of it is playable. Under Steam’s own Cozy tag with the coming-soon filter on I went through the games that already show a 2027 date and kept fifteen of them, by the tag test in the next section (as of August 2026). What none of them can hand you yet is a date you can rely on, so this page is sorted by how much of a date each developer has actually committed to.
So here is the caveat first, because it changes how you read the whole page. On Steam the developer sets one exact internal date and then picks how much of it you get to see: the exact day, the month and year, the quarter, the bare year, or nothing at all. Steam’s own release date documentation lists those five display options, and it also says: “You can change the release date of your game up to two weeks prior to your specified date.” The date you see is therefore a display choice sitting on top of an estimate, and developers reset that estimate freely. A game that slides from 2027 into 2028 has simply set a new date. The two-week rule governs the self-serve edit window ahead of the date currently set, and nothing more than that.
That makes date precision a useful way to sort a 2027 list. A quarter is a team that has scoped the work. A bare year is a team that has not, or that does not want to be held to it yet. It is a tiebreaker, though, and not the ranking. A studio that has already shipped this kind of game and put it on the shelf tells you more about 2027 than the tightness of its date does, and where the two disagree I go with the shipping record.
The verdict, up front: if you wishlist one game off this page, make it My Time at Evershine. Its store page shows nothing but the year, and it still wins on the thing that outranks a date this far out: Pathea Games has shipped two life sims in this series already, My Time at Portia in 2019 and My Time at Sandrock in 2023. If you would rather have the firmest date than the longest record, that is Tax It Easy on 3 March 2027, the one exact day in the table below.
What counts as cozy on this page
A cozy game is a game designed to lower your heart rate: a small world you tend, tasks that reward patience and attention, and a pace you set for yourself. If you want the longer treatment, we keep it in what is a cozy game.
I kept a game on the list if its Steam page carries the Cozy, Relaxing, Wholesome, Life Sim or Farming Sim tag and a 2027 window. Two of them, Neverway and Tax It Easy, are cozy in texture and not in subject.
The 2027 cozy slate, sorted by how firm the date is
Every date in this table is the one printed on that game’s own Steam page, checked August 2026.

The dated ones: a day, a month, a quarter
Tax It Easy carries the only exact day in the table, 3 March 2027. You work as a tax scrutinizer, checking files, spotting suspicious invoices, and deciding whether to approve, reject, or take the bribe. Cozy here is a desk, a stamp and a stack of paperwork.
Chumaky is a travelling-trader game from Kyiv Indie Titans about carting goods between locations, farming, and building a homestead. Its Steam page lists Save Anytime and Playable without Timed Input. Wishlist it for the road: the trading is what the rest of the game hangs off, and the homestead is where the money lands.
Freshly Caught puts you behind a neighbourhood fish stall: catch the fish, arrange the stall, match the right fish to the right customer, upgrade the gear. Pick it if you like a loop that closes with a single customer.
Kitaria Fables 2 has PQube publishing it, and its store page lists both online and shared-screen co-op. Worth a wishlist if the cozy part of cozy is having someone else on the couch.
Tidebound is a fishing and boat-upgrade game: sail further, catch rarer species, spend the money on gear that lets you sail further again. If a bar filling up is what relaxes you, that is the entire pitch.
A Tiny Wander sends you through a night forest with a lantern and a parcel to deliver, stopping for coffee. The setting itself is the puzzle, so it plays as a mystery with a cozy surface. Go here if you want something to work out while you unwind.
The ones that just say 2027
My Time at Evershine hands you a new settlement on the edge of the Free Cities: recruit settlers, build infrastructure, run the place as governor. It carries online and LAN co-op, and Pathea is the only studio here with two prior entries in the series it is continuing. This is my one wishlist off the page, and its bare year should turn into a quarter before it turns into a day.
Crescent County is a witch-tech delivery game where you ride a motorbroom, make drops, trick out the broom and race your friends as the sun goes down. Cozy with a throttle, for anyone who unwinds by going fast.
Hidden Folks 2 returns to hand-drawn miniature landscapes you poke at until people fall out of them. The first Hidden Folks shipped in 2017, and the sequel’s store page lists Adjustable Text Size, Color Alternatives, Mouse Only Option and Save Anytime. Play it with one hand and no hurry.
Neverway is the outlier: Fiona quits a dead-end job, starts a farm, becomes the herald of a dead god, and pays off a debt while fighting through horrors. It is for you only if cozy means warmth and routine with something wrong underneath, because this one keeps the dread in.
Five I only found by scrolling the tag page
These five reached me through the Steam search linked at the top, which is the reason that link is in the post at all. Every one of them shows the same bare 2027 as the four above.
WATERFUL: a tiny oasis builder is a one-person project about digging riverbeds to steer water through a desert, then zooming in to find the animals that arrive. Its store page lists Mouse Only Option and Playable without Timed Input. A game about water finding its way, at whatever speed you dig.
Model Kit Studio is a model-building simulator: build, pose, paint, display, repeat, with a soundtrack to sit under. The tabletop hobby feeling, and none of the plastic.
Quiet Express: Cabin 909 gives you seven days on a train crossing a continent, and a question about the cabin you are in. Story is doing more of the work here than routine, and it is the entry least likely to survive a strict definition of cozy.
Tokatonton: One-Armed Blacksmith is a medieval forge management game about rebuilding a crumbling smithy with two struggling blacksmiths, taking risky commissions when the safe ones do not pay. Take it if you like a cozy game with an actual balance sheet.
Papaya Plaza makes you mayor of a small tourist town, restoring the community at whatever speed suits you. Its store page carries the Playable without Timed Input tag. A town builder you can leave running in a second window.
Where our own games land
Our first game, Grandma Left Me a Building, is not on this list, and the reason is the date: it is set for 10 November 2026, so by the time this 2027 slate starts arriving it should already be playable. It is a cozy 2D apartment management sim about restoring the run-down building your grandmother left you, finding tenants and collecting rent. It is unreleased, so there is nothing to point at yet beyond the store page.
Our second game, Hellmate, is dated 19 January 2027 and is not cozy at all: it is roguelike deckbuilding chess through the seven floors of Hell. I mention it only because it is a useful contrast to the table above. An exact day sitting on an unreleased store page is a scoping statement, and it reads very differently from a bare year. If chess-shaped runs are more your thing than fish stalls, that is the roguelike deckbuilders we would wishlist end of our blog.
What to play while 2027 sorts itself out
Most of the games above will move at least once. In the meantime:
- Most anticipated cozy games 2026 covers everything with a nearer date, including the ones likely to slip into this list.
- Short cozy games you can finish in a weekend if the waiting is the problem.
- Best cozy games under 15 if the budget is the problem.
- Best apartment building management games if what you actually want is the tenant-and-rent loop.
Quick answers
Are there confirmed cozy games releasing in 2027?
Yes. Fifteen cozy-tagged games on Steam already show a 2027 window as of August 2026, and they are all in the table above. Only one of them, Tax It Easy, shows an exact day, and a developer can reset any of those dates at will.
Which 2027 cozy game should I wishlist first?
My Time at Evershine, from Pathea Games. Its page shows only the year, but the studio shipped My Time at Portia in 2019 and My Time at Sandrock in 2023, and on a game this far out a shipping record is worth more than a tight date. It is a settlement-building life sim with online and LAN co-op.
Which 2027 cozy game is most likely to arrive on time?
Tax It Easy, on 3 March 2027, because it is the only one that has committed to a specific day. A quarter is the next best signal, which puts Freshly Caught, Kitaria Fables 2, Tidebound and A Tiny Wander ahead of the year-only entries on date confidence alone. That is a narrower question than which one to wishlist.
Is a 2027 cozy game worth wishlisting this far out?
Yes, because a wishlist costs nothing and Steam mails you on release day whenever that turns out to be. Wishlist on the studio’s record, and use the quarter-dated entries to work out roughly which part of 2027 gets busy.
